I have had a spider bite where you get the little pimple which itches and you pop it and then it gets bigger. Then it began to turn black or necrose. My bite looked different than yours. I used TKO-Orange on it. It did not hurt or sting when I applied it and I try to keep some on hand. It's orange oil but it also has some surfacants in it. It seemed to neutralize any venom and arrested the spread. I appreciate seeing the pictures of the hobo bite because we have those in our area also. I would probably try the tko-orange on that bite also but I am glad to read your post on what worked for you. thanks for sharing!

Sorry for the confusion. :) I doubled the recipe so I ended up using 2/3 cup of oil instead of the 1/3 cup of oil that is called for in the recipe. Good luck with your lotion! Let me know how it turns out. :)

Just to clarify on the lotion, your ingredient list says "1/3 cup of oil", but right behind that in the parenthesis, it says "2/3 cup". I would love to try this but thought I better double check first. :)

Hi Joy,

You're going to get a lot of varying opinions on brewers yeast. I've taken it in the past during pregnancies and could feel the positive effects of it. But a lot of 'yeast experts' are going to tell you to steer clear of it. They are also gong to tell you to steer clear of breads made with yeast, too. While I think that there are a lot of problems with commercially made bread, commercial yeast and a lot of strains of commonly used wheat, I tend not to stress about eating small amounts of some *good* brands of commercially made yeast breads because my diet is good and I know how to balance my internal yeast, etc.

Now, with a brewers yeast supplement (deactivated brewer's yeast), which is often found labeled as “nutritional yeast” it is important to make sure that you get an inactive form of yeast for a nutritional supplement. Because it's deactivated, it won't flourish in your intestines like active yeast. So, it really comes down to a personal decision. Personally, I don't use it anymore because I have found other supplements that give me the same nutrients that brewer's yeast did, but that doesn't mean if it were the only choice I had that I wouldn't take it.

Thanks for hosting Wild Crafting Wednesday once again. I shared my post about Organic Virgin Coconut Oil. It is my best ingredient for turning left overs into a nutritious and exciting meal, in a hurry, while the health benefits of Organic virgin coconut oil are over the top. The brand I use has the highest anti-oxidant portfolio of any of the brands of Virgin coconut oil tested. And the best news is the coconut oil will keep for years, in a cool, dry place. It doesn't go rancid like liquid oils.

Now off to check out the other Links.
