I’ve been waiting almost a year to announce this class!  🙂

I’m pleased to announce that Jan Graf will be sharing his Graf Stress Management Technique with a select group of 25 students at my home in Centerville on Saturday, November 9th from Noon to 4:00.  The cost is $45.  Because Dr. Graf has retired from teaching, this is a rare opportunity to learn from an amazing man!  Pre-registration is required.  If you are interested in attending this class please call me at 801-292-7574 or email me at MindBodyandSole@comcast.net.

I learned of Jan Graf when a client told me about a session that her family member had with him.  She explained to me the experience of being filled with light and then detecting leaks.  She went on to talk about Dr. Graf’s technique for healing that included forgiveness and the Atonement.  After hearing some of the details about the session, I knew that Dr. Graf had something that I needed to learn and that many of my friends would benefit as well.

That was last year and those who attended his class were not disappointed!  🙂  We have been waiting since then for Dr. Graf to join us again so we could continue to learn from him.  🙂

I’m so excited that Dr. Graf has agreed once more to come and teach us!  🙂  He will be referring to his Blue Book throughout the class.  You may purchase the book in advance from his website and bring it with you to class or copies will be available at the class.

Please join us on Saturday, November 9, from Noon – 4:00.  Cost is $45.

In this class, Dr. Graf will:

  • Demonstrate a session
  • Explain the techniques used
  • Expand on the power of forgiveness
  • Explain the Graf stress management system of healing.

Please call 801-292-7574 to register or email me at MindBodyandSole@comcast.net.

Following is an excerpt from Dr. Graf’s book:

An Introduction to Graf Stress Management

Jan Graf was born and raised in Santa Clara, Utah.  He served a two year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Scotland.  He served four years in the United States Air Force.  His formal education includes graduation from Dixie College in St. George, Utah; Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah; and Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa.

He practiced chiropractic for two years in Provo, Utah and moved to Santa Clara, Utah and started a chiropractic practice in St. George, Utah in 1976.  From 1978 to 1989, he practiced stress management along with his chiropractic practice.  In 1989, he discontinued practicing chiropractic and has practiced as a stress management consultant full-time since.

With over thirty years in helping people manage their stress, he has observed that true health, happiness, and well-being come when you are at total peace with yourself in all aspects of your life, both past and present.

Being at peace comes from:

  1. Living up to your value standards
  2. Repenting when necessary
  3. Forgiving, forgiving, forgiving

This peace he speaks of is an inner peace which comes only after you have recognized what your value standards are and you live up to them.  Value standards are the fundamental beliefs we hold as truth.  These value standards are an inseparable part of who we are, how we think, and what we believe is right or wrong.

Value standards can be anything from how you tie your tie, comb your hair, or fold your towels, to honesty, integrity, and morality.  None of us is perfect, for sometimes we err and act, speak, or have thoughts that are below our value standards.

Repentance is recognizing the error and  having the courage and desire to change.  In other words, it is righting the wrong.

The hardest of the three steps is forgiveness, not because forgiveness is the most difficult thing to do, but because it is the least understood.

Graf Stress Management helps clarify the stress and teaches you how to forgive.  Through practicing the principle of forgiveness you can acquire peace, happiness, and well-being.

This inner peace comes as we learn to love and respect ourself and allow others to be less than perfect, but still see them as lovable.  Dealing effectively with stress helps us accomplish this.

What is Stress?

Stress is the inability to cope with what life presents us.  Stress is a fact of life; we all have stress in our lives, but it is how we handle the stress which makes it a positive or negative experience.

Over the years, there have been many viewpoints as to what stress is and how to deal with it. Suggested solutions range from psychoanalysis to changes in diet, relaxation exercises, sports, meditation, biofeedback, etc.  With a unique perspective on human relationships, Graf Stress Management is a simple yet highly effective alternative for pinpointing, releasing, and managing stress.

From the moment of conception, the intelligence of an individual begins recording imprints of information from the thoughts and feelings of the parents.  Every experience we have ever had in our lives, positive or negative, is recorded by the intelligence.  It makes no difference whether we recall the event accurately or not.  If there are unsolved negative feelings surrounding the event, they continue to subtly could our perceptions and responses in day to day living.  These negative accumulations are “stress.”  Graf Stress Management has identified eight different types of stress which will be explained in the next section.

By accessing the subconscious through muscle response testing.  Graf Stress Management can help you locate and identify the stressors which are affecting you from present and past experiences.  This simple, comfortable process is called a Stress Evaluation.

Clients are often surprised to discover the  nature of the stress affecting them.  What we THINK and what we FEEL can be exactly opposite.  What we THINK and what we think we THINK can be very different.  What we THINK we feel and we ACTUALLY feel are often very different.

With all of this inner confusion, sometimes we suppress or deny our true feelings, trying to cope with the circumstances of our lives.  However, unresolved hurts and guilt do not disappear.  At some point they need to be cleared.  if they are not, they accumulate as stress.  This occurs on a subconscious level and seems to be involuntary.

Please plan on joining us Saturday, November 9 at Noon for the Graf Stress Management Technique Class.  Pre-registration is required, please call (801) 292-7574 to register.
