Energy Therapy

Energy therapy is a form of complementary and alternative medicine based on the belief that a vital energy flows through the human body. The goal of energy therapy is to balance and harmonize the energy flow in the client. It is used to reduce stress and anxiety and promote well-being.

E nergy Therapy, in some form, has been practiced in cultures around the world for thousands of years.  Qigong is an energy therapy that originated in China.  Reiki has its origins in Japan.  Jin Shin Jyutsu also originated in Japan.  Ngangkari healing is common among the Aboriginal Australian, the Maparn of Canada practice traditional energy medicine, and even the traditional peoples of America practice various forms of traditional medicine that involve an energetic / spirit component.

All energy therapies involve the harmonizing of energy, also referred to as qi (pronounced chi), ki, prana, or spirit, in the body.  Some therapies focus on harmonizing specific pathways of energy,  others deal primarily with harmonizing the overall energy of the body found in the aura or chakras, and others focus on harmonizing the energy or vibration of the cells or molecules in the body.

Harmonizing of the body’s energy is typically facilitated by thought, visualization, touch, music, or the use of magnets or crystals.

"Conventional medicine, at its foundation, focuses on the biochemistry of cells, tissue, and organs. Energy Medicine, at its foundation, focuses on the energy fields of the body that organize and control the growth and repair of cells, tissue, and organs. Changing impaired energy patterns may be the most efficient, least invasive way to improve the vitality of organs, cells, and psyche."

Energy Systems

There are various energy systems within the body that are the focus of different energy therapies.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) works primarily with the Chinese Meridians.  In Jin Shin Jyutsu, the Main Central, Supervisors, Mediators, and Organ Flows are the focus.  The Chakra system focuses on seven primary vortexes of energy located along the spine at nerve plexuses.  The aura system utilizes a “whole body” energy and it’s layers.

Other therapies focus on harmonizing energy at a cellular level via music, magnets, or crystals.  While other’s focus on harmonizing a disruption in the body’s energy through the use of touch, magnets, or thought.

Energy Source

The source of our body’s energy (qi, ki, prana) is our personal Spirit.  If you think of your spirit as a battery (when the spirit leaves the physical body, there is no power source left for the body); the Chakras as electrical cords and the energy pathways (Chinese meridians, JSJ pathways and organ flows) as strings of lights connected to the Chakras and running all through the body, you can begin to have a basic understand of how the Spirit, Chakras, and Pathways work together.

Effects

If our energy becomes disrupted – either at the Chakra level or in one of the pathways –  because of trauma, or stress, or body piercings (to name a few) the flow of energy is impeded.  You may experience physical illness and pain or you may also experience emotional blockages, fears, anxiety, depression and so on.  No matter what the cause of the energetic disruption, it has a negative reaction on your energy system.

In order for there to be “light” everything needs to be working properly and plugged into each other.  A light bulb isn’t going to light if it isn’t plugged into the power cord.  The power cord won’t do any good if there’s a break in the line.  Through Energy Therapy, the Practitioner can help locate the blockage and/or identify the disruption, facilitate the balance of the disruption, and then YOU (your Spirit) takes over from there and makes the correction.

The wonderful thing about Energy Therapy is that your Spirit knows truth, your Spirit knows wholeness, your Spirit knows wellness and your Spirit will take you there, IF you get out of the way.  Many times our own perceptions, thoughts, feelings, actions, and even our words create an energy disruption that disrupts the flow of energy to a particular part of our body.  This causes a weakness in that area of the body which may attract illness or injury.

Everyone has heard of sound waves, well the words we speak create sound waves.  Dr. Emoto has shown that words (and even thoughts) directed at water result in the creation of different crystals when the water is frozen depending on the type of word spoken or thought.  Beautiful water crystals are formed when words like love, kindness, joy are directed at the water.  Ugly water crystals are formed when words like hate, evil, and even Hitler are directed at the water.  Considering the composition of our body and our brain, imagine the effect that negative words and thoughts are having on our bodies.

Through Energy Therapy, negative thoughts, feelings, and emotions can be brought into harmony, our energy will flow more freely and strongly, and our Light will shine more brightly.

Concerning matter, we have been all wrong. What we have called matter is energy, whose vibration has been so lowered as to be perceptible to the senses. There is no matter.
