Class One of the Fall 2012 Foot Zone Certification class was held just over a week ago and MAN the energy was off the chart!
For those of us living toward the south, the view as we went through the canyon was well worth the drive! The colors were changing and the mountains were blazing with color!
We got to meet almost all of the students in this class, as well as the instructors, and made many new friends.
Students had instruction in the History of the Foot Zone Technique, Introduction to the Anatomy of the Feet, and of course instruction in Area 1 of the zone. Brad demonstrated Area 1 and then students had an opportunity to practice.
Here’s what one student had to say about Class 1.
“Brad’s a good instructor. He is able to keep the class moving along so that the material is all covered in the time allotted. He has a sense of humor, which helps to lighten the mood. I liked the overview he gave of what the course would include and how it would unfold.
I wasn’t particularly looking forward to the “touchy-feely, let’s-get-to-know-each-other” part of the day, (because I’ve had a lot of that), but I found that it wasn’t prolonged and actually proved useful later on. Brad helped us all to feel comfortable with one another during this experience. Especially important to me was to identify the members of the class that would be attending with me in Centerville.
The culmination of the experience of Class #1 for me was the bodywork on Day 3, of course. That’s where the rubber hits the road, so-to-speak. I was impressed with the professionalism exhibited throughout all the sections we covered, from paperwork, to anatomy, to sanitation, to actual work on the feet. The materials are well prepared (but need a little spelling and occasional grammatical editing), and it’s clear that the course has been well thought-out and administered. I was impressed.
I’ve attended many of these type of courses and this appears to be one of the best in all respects; curriculum, caliber of teachers, friendliness, educational materials, and even convenience of class locations. I can see why this school has a favorable reputation and I’m looking forward to the upcoming classes.” ~Janet Ollman Blackmer, LMT
