Affilliate Spotlight – Cooking Traditional Foods

Kerry Ann Foster runs Cooking Traditional Foods, the longest running Traditional Foods Menu Mailer on the internet.  Kerry Ann has over nine years of traditional foods experience and is a former Weston A. Price Foundation chapter leader.  Kerry shares her journey to health through celiac disease, food allergies, obesity, adrenal fatigue, and heavy metals.  Founded in 2005, CTF helps you feed  your family nourishing foods they will love.  Each mailer contains one soup, five dinners, one breakfast, one dessert and extras.

Traditional Foods are foods consumed in the way our ancestors ate them.  The basis of Traditional Foods is that the food you consume be as nutrient dense and nourishing as possible.  Traditional Foods (TF) goes beyond just avoiding packaged and processed foods.  It is about choosing the best food options available for your budget, individual chemistry & location and consuming it in a way that allows your body to extract the maximum nutrition from that item.

If you’re new to Traditional Foods, want an additional resource, or need a reminder of what you already know, Kerry has a FREE Traditional Foods for Beginners eCourse to help you learn all of the basics of a real foods diet, along with many links to helpful websites and plenty of recipes!  🙂

She also has a Back to Basics Series if you’re not sure where to start with incorporating traditional foods into your everyday life.  It’s a 30-week long, 322-page book designed to teach you how to incorporate traditional foods techniques into your life, a little at a time.  The course covers such things as how to make a ‘cream of mushroom soup’ replacement, homemade mayonnaise, homemade spice mixes, homemade dressings, how to soak and cook grains, how to make stock, how to make yogurt, how to stretch meals and save on your grocery budget, how to hide vegetables and liver in your  meals, and much, much more.

And she has a newsletter that contains free recipes, articles on traditional foods, coupon codes, notices of sales and more each week.  I get many emails every week, but this is one that I stop to read, it’s filled with great information on cooking traditional foods.

The Traditional Foods Philosophy of CTF is based on the book Nutrition and Physical Degeneration by Dr. Weston A. Price combined with a modern understanding of gut health and physiology.  Since Dr. Price’s book came out in the 1930s, there have been a number of people, foundations, and books with various views of traditional foods.  These are the tenets of traditional foods as viewed by CTF.
